Gilgal is licensed as both.

Gilgal Care Team (agency): the caregiver is our employee. We handle payroll, insurance, and supervision.

Family-Led Care (registry): we refer cleared independent caregivers, you choose one, and you agree on pay and pay them directly.

Gilgal Care Team: one hourly rate on one invoice from us. Companion $32, personal $34, premium $37, specialized $40. Three hours per visit, nine per week.

Family-Led Care: $400 at placement, then $30 per day of care. You pay the caregiver directly at the rate the two of you agree on. Full details →

Care Guidance: care planning, appointment support, benefits help, caregiver training, and business consulting.
Cancer Care & Recovery: help at home and at appointments.

We do not provide skilled nursing, therapy, or medication administration.

"Registry" is the licensing term, and Family-Led Care is our plain-English name for it. It is private pay and not a Medicaid program.

A room-by-room check for fall risks and other hazards, with a written list of what to fix. It is included when Gilgal home care begins.

Yes. By phone or video: $55 for 30 minutes or $100 for 60, anywhere in Pennsylvania. In person: $100 for two hours, then $50 an hour, in our five counties. Both include a written summary the same day. Book appointment support →

Every caregiver, employee or contractor, passes the required Pennsylvania clearances before entering a home: a State Police check, plus FBI fingerprints and a child abuse clearance where required. We also check identity, references, and competency, and our Administrator approves every placement.

It depends on who you will be caring for, and all must be current before you work with a client.

Every caregiver needs a PA State Police Criminal Background Check. If you have not lived in Pennsylvania for the two years right before you apply, you also need an FBI fingerprint check.

If you will care for anyone under 18, you also need a PA Child Abuse History Clearance through ChildLine at compass.dhs.pa.gov and an FBI fingerprint check, no matter how long you have lived in Pennsylvania. We will tell you exactly which ones apply to you.

Agency caregivers are W-2 employees. Registry caregivers are independent contractors paid by the family. We put it in writing before you start.

Yes. Agencies and registries need a PA Department of Health license under 28 Pa. Code Chapter 611 before placing caregivers. Our startup guide ($57) walks through it.

Usually two to four months after a complete application. Incomplete applications get returned, not corrected.

An agency employs its caregivers. A registry refers independent caregivers and does not employ them. Each has its own Chapter 611 requirements, and we hold both licenses.
