Gilgal Home Care & Registry does not discriminate. This applies to everyone we serve, everyone we employ or roster, and everyone who applies to either.

Our commitment

Gilgal admits, serves, refers, and assigns consumers, and recruits, hires, rosters, trains, compensates, promotes, and terminates workers, without regard to:

• Race, color, or national origin
• Ancestry or place of birth
• Religion or creed
• Sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression
• Pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions
• Age
• Disability or perceived disability
• Marital or familial status
• Veteran or military status
• Source of payment, including participation in Medicaid or other public programs
• Any other characteristic protected by federal, Pennsylvania, or local law

Legal basis

This commitment reflects our obligations under Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, and 28 Pa. Code Chapter 611.

Services and access

Consumers are admitted, assessed, and served according to their care needs and our capacity to meet them safely — never according to a protected characteristic. Where we cannot meet a person's needs, we say so directly and help identify a provider who can.

Employment and rostering

All employment and rostering decisions are based on qualifications, clearances, competency, and conduct. Gilgal provides reasonable accommodation to qualified applicants and workers with disabilities, and reasonable accommodation for sincerely held religious beliefs, unless doing so would create undue hardship.

Communication access

We take reasonable steps to communicate effectively with people who have limited English proficiency or who have hearing, vision, or speech disabilities. If you need an interpreter, materials in an alternative format, or another accommodation, ask us. There is no charge for it.

If you believe you have been discriminated against

You may file a grievance with us directly, and doing so will never result in retaliation.

We acknowledge grievances within 5 business days and respond in writing within 30 days.

Filing with an outside agency does not require you to file with us first.

Retaliation

Gilgal prohibits retaliation against anyone who raises a concern, files a grievance, or participates in an investigation. Retaliation is itself a violation of this policy and is grounds for termination.
